As Goro returns to Mifune after 3 years, things have become quite different. Not long after the reunion of childhood friend including Komori, Goro learns that the baseball club of the school is about to cease to exist. Despite seeing how hard Komori is working to make sure that doesn't happen, things head for the worse as Komori's hope, Goro, joins the soccer club!
Preparing for the battles to come, tournaments and to fight against new opponents from over the world, Hakufu is working to have enough money to make her dream true. But she doesn't consider that new allies and enemies will come to scene, and also being a weak leader to the eyes of her companions. A sister also appears. She doesn't even know her mom's past so better to star from the local stuff before attempting to go worldwide.

Hoshino Momoko is Goro's schoolteacher, and the first woman Shigeharu has been interested in since the death of Goro's mother.The destinies of these three individuals will become intertwined as father and son experience both heartbreak and triumph on the baseball diamond. But when an unspeakable tragedy visits the family, it will take everything they have to pick up the pieces and reclaim their dreams.
This drama is set in the late 1960s decade of Japan. The main rivalry depicted in the story is between Manpyo Daisuke (Kitaoji Kinya), a powerful banker, and his eldest son, Manpyo Teppei (Kimura Takuya), the executive managing director of a steel firm. For some reasons, Daisuke seem to dislike his own son and as Teppei seems to find out the reason for Daisuke's hatred, his whole life is turned upside down with fatal consequences.
